Totem & Pylon Signs

A totem or pylon sign is a free-standing vertical sign built on a steel structure anchored into a concrete foundation, usually double-sided. Royal Reklam manufactures and installs 2 to 8 metre illuminated totems in Samsun, including structural calculation, foundation works and electrical supply.

A façade sign is only visible from directly in front of the building. A totem is what makes a driver, a passer-by on the opposite pavement, or someone pulling into a car park notice you from hundreds of metres away.

A totem is closer to a structure than a sign: it needs a steel frame sized for wind load, a reinforced concrete foundation at the right depth and proper earthing. We deliver totems complete — structural calculation, foundation and electrical infrastructure included.

Double-sided construction is our standard so both directions of traffic can read it. For multi-tenant buildings we design a modular cassette system: when a brand changes, only that cassette is swapped rather than the whole totem.

What Determines the Price?

  • Single- versus double-sided configuration
  • Number of tenant cassettes
  • Distance of the electrical supply run

Common questions

The questions we are asked most often before a sign is commissioned, answered plainly.

For totems above 4 metres, yes — ground conditions must be known. Loose or made ground requires a deeper foundation. We assess the ground during the site survey.
